Four years ago, with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our dear Tony. We cherish the memories, adventures, and stories from his time with us and how those times have shaped us into who we are today. Prior to his passing, Tony wished he could have “just had 10 more years” and in honor of that the 10 for Tony Fund was created to carry on his legacy for 10 years.
In 2022, we made our first annual donations to Tony’s 4 loves. We are excited to announce we have marked our 3rd year of grants in Tony’s honor to Lutheridge, Yellowstone, Chapel Hill HS, Phillips Jr. High, and UNC Women’s Athletics.
The gift from 10 For Tony supports an Outdoor Adventures Program counselor at Lutheridge. For more information about the first grant, you can read the article: Tony Yount Legacy Fund for Lutheridge Outdoor Adventure Programs (OAP) (Article in the Lutheridge Link newsletter in August 2022)
The FORevHER Tar Heels Excellence Fund provides mentoring and leadership opportunities for women student-atheletes at UNC-Chapel Hill.
The grants continue to support educational programs at Yellowstone National Park through the Expedition Yellowstone” youth education program.
The Chapel Hill High School scholarships continue to be awarded.
